The Photographs above and below were kindly published with the permission of the owner Dale Piercey, she said: Comet Vale Pics My great-grandfather owned a number of hotels in the Goldfields. This is Comet Vale. I presume the first is John with his daughter Adelaide, known as Addie. I think the children in the second pic are too old to be his children. His son, John was born in 1902 and Addie 2 years later. John died in December 1908, when his son was 6 and his daughter 4. These children look older than that. The way his wife has her hand on his though makes me think they hadn't been married for long when the pic was taken c1908 he died in 1909.
